Articles
There are three articles in English: a, an and the. All of them are used before words to show that those words are being talked about.

a | indefinite article; used before a noun that starts with a consonant when talking about something not specific. | I would love to eat a sandwich. |
an | indefinite article; used before a noun that starts with a vowel when talking about something not specific. | He bought an orange. |
the | definite article; used before a noun (person, place or thing) when you want to reference something specific. | The boy I met yesterday was friendly. |
